Collaborating to Address the FRCP Changes and Effectively Manage Electronically Stored Information
with speaker
Christina Ayiotis, Esq.
Booz Allen Hamilton

Tina condensed a three-hour presentation into an hour and sparked a lively discussion on how RIM professionals must learn to collaborate with all relevant internal stakeholders to actively manage all enterprise information, particularly electronically stored information (ESI).  The focus was on the practical implications of changes to the Federal Rules of Civil Procedure and the impact they have on ESI during discovery. But everyone agreed with Tina that clear strategies for working together and creating clear roles and responsibilities regarding information governance will also improve enterprise operations.  To download her presentation click here.

Where is the Information Management in RIM?
with speaker
J. Timothy (Tim) Sprehe, Ph.D.
President of Sprehe Information Management Associates, Inc.

Our program theme for the year is "Putting the IM in RIM."  Our first speaker of the year, Tim Sprehe, did an excellent job of explaining why he is concerned that with the recent focus in RIM programs on compliance and litigation we have lost sight of managing information to support business operations.  Tim explored his concerns and put them into an historical context, particularly for those of us who work with federal government records.  He sparked considerable discussion around ideas for returning more balance to the three pillars of RIM, Operations, Litigation, and Compliance.  To download his presentation click here.
