The Benefits of ARMA Membership

Why join? ARMA International members include records and information managers, MIS and ADP professionals, imaging specialists, archivists, hospital administrators, legal administrators, librarians, and educators. ARMA, its chapters, and its members are dedicated to helping individuals, organizations, and government agencies successfully meet the challenges of the increasingly complex records and information management field.

Take advantage of these benefits:

Continuing Education

Through chapter meetings, local seminars, annual conference course, and the annual international conference, ARMA members have the resources needed to keep pace with this rapidly changing industry.

Technical Publications

Discounted to the ARMA International members, these publications are available to you as a resource in the records and information management fields.

Networking Opportunities

Membership provides you with a connection to a global network of other records and information management professionals. Take the opportunity to meet others in your field who share the same challenges and concerns by networking in your local chapter, as well as through the association's structure.

Industry-Specific Groups (ISGs)

An Industry Specific Group (ISG) is a group formed to focus on the specific needs of a particular industry (i.e., educational institutions, legal services, banking, and communications). It is an effective means of establishing a national/international network within an industry of ARMA International members with common goals and objectives, working together to solve their unique problems. The professional needs of records and information management (RIM) professionals are as diverse as the industries they represent. The ISG program was specifically developed to link together those professionals working in similar industries facing similar needs.

Guidance Toward the CRM

The Certified Records Manager (CRM) designation is granted by the Institute of Certified Records Managers. ARMA International members can receive guidance toward the ICRM process for this valuable accomplishment.

The Information Management Journal

As the leading professional journal in the field, the Information Management Journal is filled with in-depth articles and information by leading RIM and Knowledge Management experts.

Chapter Newsletters

Regardless of what chapter you join, the chapter newsletter keeps you up-to-date on the association's activities and issues. Email alerts from ARMA International also keep you posted on hot topics in the area of records and information.

Legislative Awareness

ARMA International works to improve legislation that affects the records and information management industry.
