Chris Koch

Christopher Koch is the Automation Supervisor for the Department of Utilities, Chesterfield County, Virginia.  He is responsible for all Information Systems as well as the areas of automation development and technology advancement.  Mr. Koch helped establish the County’s first Geographical Information System (GIS) and was responsible for the implementation of the Utilities Imaging System, the first Electronic Document Management System (EDMS) within Chesterfield County.

 

Previously he was Hardware Analyst in charge of new computer installations and technical support with Medical Data Services, a national software development firm, targeted for the Health Care Industry. Mr. Koch was responsible for the design and coordination of new computer facilities and the technical support of more than 40 installations across the country.  He also performed consulting services for telecommunications to many Health Care Providers and Insurance groups.

 

Mr. Koch has over twenty years experience in the areas of Data Processing and consulting.  He received a Bachelor's degree in Information Systems from Virginia Commonwealth University in 1987 and is currently pursuing a Master’s Degree.  Mr. Koch is a past president of the Richmond Chapter of ARMA and was Chapter Member of the Year in 2004.  His professional memberships have included: the Data Processing Management Association (DPMA), the Association of Records Managers and Administrators International (ARMA), the Virginia Association of Government Archives and Records Administrators (VAGARA), the Urban and Regional Information Systems Association (URISA), the American Water Works Association (AWWA), the Geospatial Information and Technology Association (GITA) and the Association of Information and Image Management (AIIM).
