In order to have some fun and to enhance the relationship between ARMA Gaithersburg and its vendors to the mutual benefit of both, the Gaithersburg Chapter sponsors a Vendor of the Year Award.
The ARMA Gaithersburg Vendor of the Year will be awarded to the vendor who scores the most points from the categories below. The Award will include a free booth at the ARMA Gaithersburg Seminar in April, a brief write up in the ARMA Gaithersburg newsletter, and a link on the home page of the ARMA Gaithersburg web site. The award will be presented at our June banquet.
With a new chapter year just beginning, we are now turning our attention to the award for 2007-2008. The areas on which vendors will be judged will be:
- Gaining exposure and meeting new potential customers by participating as a sponsor at our April Seminar. We average 100 attendees at this event. (3 pts. for $150; 5 pts. for $250). For the 2007-2008 chapter year, we will count vendor participation in the April 2007 seminar.
- Celebrating the chapter’s accomplishments by sponsoring our June Banquet (3 pts. for funds; 4 pts. for gift).
- Maintaining a presence in our chapter by advertising in or otherwise sponsoring the newsletter (3 pts. for funds [i.e. for postage]; 5 pts. for ad).
- Helping clients and co-workers find RIM assistance and increasing client contact by bringing non-members to ARMA Gaithersburg chapter meetings (1 point per attendee; 2 pts. for attendees at our April Seminar).
- Supporting ongoing chapter activities by sponsoring a monthly meeting or a dessert (3 points).
- Taking an active role in chapter leadership by serving as a member of the Executive Board or volunteering as a member of the seminar committee (3 points).
- Strengthening the membership of the chapter by bringing in a new member (5 points).
In the event there are two or more vendors who have equal scores, a vendor will be chosen by lottery from the vendors with the highest score.

We would like to thank the vendors listed above for their continued support and we applaud them all as they compete for this year's award.
Based on point totals accumulated since last April, our 2006-2007 Vendor of the Year is Metropolitan Archives, represented by Connie Durkin. Connie has served as our chapter president this past year. In addition to advertising in the chapter newsletter and sponsoring our annual seminar, Connie and Metropolitan Archives have been responsible for bringing a number of guests to our monthly meetings, several of whom have gone on to join ARMA. For winning this year's competition, Metropolitan Archives will receive publicity from the chapter throughout the next year and will be entitled to free booth space at the 2008 seminar. The chapter appreciates the support that Connie and her company have given us this year, and our congratulations to out to them!
