Chapter History
On July 28, 1982, thirteen people gathered to form a
local chapter of ARMA. After several organizational
meetings, the Chapter was chartered on December 6, 1982.
Thirty six people attended this ceremony and officers
were elected to the Board.
Since its
inception, the Chapter has experienced continual growth.
Today’s membership exceeds 60 with individuals
representing various industries and services within the
Research Triangle region such as vendors, temporary
personnel services, pharmaceuticals, communications,
financial services, government, institutions of higher
learning, utilities, insurance, manufacturing,
litigation, retail businesses, software development, and
consulting.
Capping off its 25th anniversary in 2008,
our Chapter won the coveted Chapter of the Year award at
the ARMA International Conference in Las Vegas. The
Awards Committee cited the Chapter's innovative public
relations approaches and membership recruitment efforts.
