January 2009 Conference Overview Submitted by Pete Casey, Region Coordinator As a Region Coordinator, I thought I would share my feedback about the ARMA International Conference that was held in Orlando October 15-18, 2009. I value the conference primarily as a time to learn new things that I can apply on the job. Another reason that attending the conference is important to me is the opportunity to network with other records management professionals. I have met so many great people working in records management, both vendors and practitioners, and these people have been a tremendous professional resource. I have been fortunate to have been able to attend both the ARMA International Conference and the ARMA Mid-Atlantic Region Leadership Conference consistently over the past 5 years. I look forward to attending these conferences because I get to touch base with my friends from my local chapter (Liberty Bell Chapter) and people that I know from the MAR Leadership Conference. It was great attending the awards luncheon with my colleagues from the chapter as well as going to dinner with my friends from the Mid-Atlantic Region- and a lot of fun too. The good news is that I keep meeting new people from the Mid-Atlantic Region that I expect will be old friends at the next conference. I hope to catch up with you or meet you at the next ARMA Conference!
