President Charlotte-Piedmont Chapter

 

Happy Holidays from Charlotte, North Carolina, home of the Carolina Panthers and the Charlotte Bobcats. This chapter serves the Charlotte-South Carolina, and extends as far as Piedmont-Asheville, NC area. Our chapter is over 16 years old. We are so honored to live in the second banking capital of the country next to New York City. Within the last 3 months our chapter has worked diligently to update our website. This will be an ongoing project. We now have a wonderful ARMA lapel pin representing our chapter and the city of Charlotte.

 

The Charlotte-Piedmont Chapter’s main goal for the upcoming year 2007 is to help our members grow professionally. This initiative will be achieved by offering continuing education programs and publications specifically designed to help build the skills and knowledge of our members.

 

Currently, our chapter has a membership that exceeds over 35 members. Our goal for 2007 is to provide our members with topics of concern e.g.; Data Imaging, E-Discovery, Retention/Destruction, Data Protection etc. As President, I want to lead the effort by providing knowledgeable professionals to speak to our core group of members. Our monthly meetings are attended by an assortment of RIM professionals. The Charlotte-Piedmont Chapter has an 80% attendance ration. We are encouraged each month to see a variety of companies represented.

 

Recruiting has been targeted as one of our top priorities for 2007. On December 7th the Charlotte-Piedmont Chapter will host their annual Holiday Networking Reception sponsored by our local vendors. We are very excited to host this “Must Attend” event that our members/vendors look forward to every year. While there is plenty of food/drink we treat this event as a recruiting party for potential new members or new business for vendors.

 

As a growing chapter we have listed 5 top goals for the year 2007:

  • Recruit and market our chapter to all interested individuals and organizations

  • Established a monthly newsletter on our website

  • Provide chapter members with all available resources via ARMA International

  • Present our first full 1-day Educational Seminar with 2 speakers and workshop in the month of April 2007

  • Plan offsite tour-lunch of historic/business Charlotte

 

We welcome all neighboring chapters to visit us on the third Thursday of each month from 11:30-1pm at the Doubletree Hotel located on West Trade Street located in Uptown Charlotte. (Free parking) Please come and visit our wonderful and exciting city, I look forward to seeing all of you at our 2007 Mid-Atlantic Regional Leadership Conference.
