I hope everyone is having a great summer.  WELCOME to all our members and thank you to all board officers for volunteering to serve this year - many of you are already busy planning for the upcoming year.  The time and effort you give to your chapters and the association is very much appreciated.

If you have not already done so, you should access our region web page to see our new and improved look - thanks to our region Webmaster, David Noack.  In the Region News section be sure to look for chapter news from each of the chapter presidents along with records management articles and other articles of interest.  If you would like to submit an article or a write-up, please let me know.  Linda Cleary, Chapter President of Diamond State, will be submitting an article for the month of September.

Also, don’t forget to check the Region Events calendar periodically for any planned meetings, seminars and other events happening within the Region.  If there is an event you would like posted on the calendar, please send me the information.

I would like to introduce the Region leadership team for 2006-2007.  Pattie Beerman is the Coordinator for the Southern Area.  Chapters for this area include Greenville, SC; Charleston, SC; Columbia, SC; and Augusta, GA.  Chris Koch is the Coordinator for the Capitol Area, which includes Greater Washington, DC, Northern VA/Fairfax, and Greater Baltimore, MD chapters.  George Darnell, CRM is the Coordinator for the Northern Area.  Chapters include Gaithersburg, Pittsburgh, Liberty Bell, and Diamond State.  Tammy Wheeler, Region Manager/Coordinator for the Central Area, which includes Richmond, Piedmont, Triangle, and Tidewater chapters.  Denise Pickett, CRM is the Region Treasurer. 

On behalf of the region team we look forward to working with each chapter in the coming year.
