Message from the President

                                                            May 5, 2010

    Dear Chapter Members,

I am very excited about the Mid-Atlantic Region Leadership Conference!  Do you know why?  It's going to be held here in Pittsburgh on June 10th to June 12th.  Our board members and I have been busy working with the Mid-Atlantic Region leadership to plan a wonderful conference.  I have posted the registration form and information about the conference on the homepage of this website.  There is still time for chapter members to sign up.  You may also bring a guest if you want to.  The last time the conference was held in Pittsburgh was in June of 2003.  We had a great then, too.  Each chapter in the Mid-Atlantic Region is going to send one of their board members to the conference.  There are 14 chapters in our region.  The Mid-Atlantic Region includes Pennsylvania down to South Carolina.  If there is any voting that takes place at the conference, each chapter get to make one vote.  More often than not, it is usually it is voting about expenditures.

For many years now I have been our chapter representative, but this year Brianne Aul (our chapter Treasurer) has volunteered to be our representative.  Our chapter representative must write a presentation/report to be given at the conference.  It must last around 10 to 15 minutes.  Also, the representative must attend all of the sessions, participate in discussions, vote on important issues, and then write a 2 to 3 page report about the conference to be posted on our chapter website.  Thank you, Brianne, for volunteering!  The rest of the board members, who volunteered to help with the conference, will be attending the sessions and helping to make the conference run smoothly for all the people involved.  So, if you think you are interested in joining us, please fill out the registration form and get in mailed in soon.  The more of us there are, the more fun it will be!

During the summer, the board members will be meeting to make plans for the coming 2010 - 2011 year.  We will be sharing ideas for programs, working on increasing chapter membership, and writing some articles to post to the website. Our goal is to keep the chapter a strong and active one.  If you have ideas about how to improve our activities, please give me a call at 412 - 288 -1971.  We are also need articles to post to the website.  If you have some, please email them to me.  I look forward to seeing many of you at our May 19th program meeting!

                                                        Sincerely,

                                                        Chris Nettrour, President
