Wednesday Evening, March 24, 2010 Parliamentary-Style Debate about Email Management Principles and Practices with Gary Link, CRM as moderator Program Description: “The Motion on the Floor is …” Join IMA and ARMA as we team up on March 24, 2010 at the Rivers Club for our first annual Parliamentary-style debate. It’s a new type of program titled “The Motion on the Floor is...” The motion on the floor for our inaugural debate will be “Email cannot be adequately managed by classic records management principles and practices.” You, the audience, will join the debate arguing pro or con for the motion on the floor. We will assign which side of the debate you will take, send out the format and rules, and give you the names and contact info for the other members of your team so you can prepare your points. So please register early! Gary Link, CRM, is the Corporate Records Manager for Astorino, an Architectural/Engineering, firm in Pittsburgh. Prior to working at Astorino, Mr. Link was the County Records Manager for Allegheny County, Pennsylvania. Mr. Link has written records retention policies for private industry, government, and non-profit organizations. He is a Certified Records Manager (CRM) and has worked in the field for over nineteen years. During that time he has published articles and spoken at many venues on records management topics. Mr. Link is a Past President of the Pittsburgh Chapter of ARMA, the Association for Records Managers and Administrators. The menu will be your
choice of a red meat, chicken, or fish dinner. You will be indicating your
choice of a dinner soon after you arrive. The
cost the dinner and program is $30. You may pay when you arrive, by either
cash or check. Checks need to be made out to "Pittsburgh Chapter of
ARMA." This price includes coffee/tea, dessert, and tip.
